Data Deletion
Effective date: June 15, 2026
You can delete your Chateaux account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how, what we delete, when, and how to request deletion if you do not have an account (e.g., you are a lead who submitted a form on a public listing page).
✅ The fastest way — delete inside the app
- Open the Chateaux app.
- Go to the Account tab (bottom-right).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
- Confirm.
That starts an irreversible deletion of your account and all data associated with it. You will receive a confirmation email.
What gets deleted
When you delete your account:
- Your profile (name, email, phone, brokerage, bio, avatar) is removed.
- Your listings, staged photos, 360° panoramas, tours, and public landing pages are removed from public access within 24 hours and permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Your leads, notes, tasks, and message history are permanently deleted within 30 days.
- Your public business card and QR codes stop resolving within 24 hours.
- Any pinned reports and dashboard layouts are deleted.
- Any generated ad creative or promo kits are deleted.
- Media hosted on Cloudinary is purged within 30 days.
- Your Stripe customer record is retained per Stripe’s retention (for tax and dispute purposes) but is unlinked from any identifiable Chateaux profile.
What is retained (and why)
- Financial records required by tax law (invoice, subscription history, VAT records where applicable): retained for 7 years.
- Server-side logs (IP-address, request timestamps) that do not identify you personally: automatically expire in 90 days.
- Anonymized aggregate analytics (e.g., "agents in Zone X performed N stagings this month") — already stripped of personal identifiers.
Retained data is stored in secure, access-restricted archives and is not used for marketing, training, or profiling.
Alternative deletion methods
If you can’t sign in
Email privacy@chateaux.ai from the email on file. Include:
- Your account email address
- "Delete my Chateaux account" in the subject
- Any additional detail that helps us verify (e.g., brokerage name)
We reply within 48 hours to confirm receipt and complete deletion within 30 days as required by GDPR / CCPA.
If you are a lead or public visitor (no account)
If you submitted a form on a public listing page and want your information removed:
- Email privacy@chateaux.ai with the subject "Public lead deletion request".
- Include:
- The email address you used on the form
- The listing URL if you remember it
- Confirmation that you are the person whose data you’re asking to delete
We remove your record from the agent’s pipeline within 72 hours and confirm by email.
If you’re a team member added by a brokerage
You can delete your own profile inside the app, same as above. However, your brokerage may retain business-context records (e.g., commissions attributed to your production) per its own policies. Contact your brokerage administrator to clarify.
Meta / Facebook data-deletion callback
If you signed in via Meta (Facebook) and later want to request deletion, Meta directs you to this page. Follow the in-app deletion or email instructions above; we honor Meta’s data-deletion callback requirement.
Our data-deletion callback URL for Meta is:
https://api.chateaux.ai/api/public/meta-deletion-callback
What you should do before deleting
We cannot recover deleted data. Consider:
- Export your leads and listings. From Account → Export data you receive a JSON file with your listings, leads, and reports.
- Cancel any active Stripe subscription first, otherwise your final invoice may still generate.
- Save any public landing-page URLs you’re using externally — they will stop resolving.
Verification
To prevent malicious requests, we may verify your identity before completing deletion. Typical checks:
- Confirmation via the email on file.
- Response to a challenge inside the app.
- For enterprise plans, verification with a designated administrator.
Complaints
If you believe we haven’t honored a valid deletion request, you can:
- Reply to our confirmation email.
- Contact your national data-protection authority (EEA / UK) or the California Attorney General (US).
- Email privacy@chateaux.ai with the subject "DPA escalation" — we treat these with priority.
